I started this blog in HS, when I was this materialistic, but saying I wasn't materialistic first to start a blog and thought my life was so fab since all I did was school, shop, & friends. Fast forward 4 years later, I became this college student that realized that college life wasn't like the movies and MY struggle began...Some 10 years from HS and here I am, living my dream of going to law school, bringing a whole new meaning to MY struggle…

Music Tastes

I was at the denist right, listening to there god knows what radio station. I was totally chilling to this song, and to much avail, it was Journey. I hear Journey is pretty lame, as one of the bandmates from that MTV Cribs guy said. I forgot the band, but I think it was the Red Hot Chilli Peppers or something that, it's the one with the modest house and he has the long curtains in "where the magic happens." So, I was totally digging this whole Journey ordeal. I also heard Celine Dion's new song. I thought she retired or whatever? It sounds like the rest of her songs, incredible nasally with her French Canadian and god knows what else mixed in there. I was also listening to Faith Evans and that I Love You song as well as Mobb Deep feat. 112 whatever that song's name is that I never quite catch. I tried to get it off the net since i'm really cheap, it didn't happen. It hasn't come out. I was just thinking what if the government came to all our houses and logged on to our comps to see what mp3s we had. I heard it's illegal to download the stuff. If it is illegal, why do they have mp3 players and websites galore?

Black Pride

It's Black Pride month or African American Month or what have you. I just realized that the black community is incredibly strong. When you think about it, they're better than the whites. They have this strong sense of family, religion, most of them work hard, and they manage to get by. I don't really understand how the whites managed to conquer them for the lack of a better word to become slaves. If blacks were so powerful and had a lot of power in church and family, why where they conquered by some men wearing white suits sweating like a bull? It doesn't make sense. Sure, they had guns, but you'd think that since of people in Africa kill Tigers, you'd think you could just use you're sword and slash a big one on tubby right? It is quite puzzling I find. I mean, there's never a real reason why the Blacks lost and had to become slaves? One can argue that they were tricked, gunned, or they compromised for the trade of goods then were proceed to be put on boats. This question is a puzzle, like one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Nas vs. Jay

I got mad props for Jay. He's bling blingin' and totally with it. It brings the Marcy Projects with Urban flava to the mainstream. Nas is just a little kid. I know i'm gonna get dupped on this, but I don't see why Nas is all mighty compared to Jay. So what, Nas is all still livin' in the QB, but Jay is actually doin' something with his life, so what he is livin' a little extravagant, ok, fine, ALOT? Isn't that what much rappers do anyways? There was these two people who were all saying, "It's all illmatic with Nas." What makes Nas so incredibly, I believe it's the only way for those two people to maintain in their ghetto fab life and it keeps them grounded. Jay pictures society now, what African Americans as well as any other common folk might want to aspire to. He's made it, while Nas is still crawling in his crib.
